Doodle Bug
Defense at Night
"Enclosed
is a snap shot taken while anti-aircraft guns were firing on
one of Hitler's Doodle Bugs as it flew over the field one night
- not so good, but look close and you can see the spot lights
meeting at a point in the sky with tracers, etc. bursting around
them."
Doodle Bug
was a British nickname for the V-1
flying bomb, the first cruise missile, which was first launched
against England shortly after D-day. High Halden was almost directly
on the flight path from the Continent to London, and witnessed
the frequent attacks.
